The potential disadvantages of structured settlements
Some people who feel trapped into the structure of settlement, periodic payments. They may wish to purchase a new home, or other valuables, but you can not muster the resources, because they can not borrow against future payments in their settlement.
Some people will do better to accept a lump sum settlement, the investment itself. Investment in many of the standard structure of the settlements than the annuities used in a greater long-term returns.
